White Tiger by Arvind Adiga

The White TigerThe White Tiger by Aravind Adiga
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

The book is about a boy born Uttar Pradesh, one of the most underdeveloped state in India. It traces how the boy begins his life journey by being a servant and lives in that mentality for several years before he decides to break free the shackles and becomes an entrepreneur who runs his own business.
It depicts a portion of how the social system works in these states where the concept of master - servant (you can possibly read it as slave too as the line distinguishing them is very thin) works till date.
The title White Tiger indicates that every once in a generation of servants, one breaks free of these shackles and becomes a master.
In the process the author has poked fun at the corrupt politicians and police and how this system works like a clockwork keeping at bay the economically and the socially downtrodden people.
It is an OK reading.
