The book is an abstract story of how the first man to invent time is granted an eternal life. He gets a gift by which he can stop time for others while he himself can spend time doing things. What is an instance for a normal person can be be stretched to year or more for this person.
It tries to highlight how time has boxed humans and forces humans to think differently than they would have had time not existed.
A decent read.
