Mr. Mellinger and few others began a hunt for an ideal location for the company. India was one of the choices, but it was rejected because it was too far away from the US. It was felt that it would be difficult to physically come to India to validate or check any progress of the projects being done there.
It then was narrowed down to the Carribean. A few islands (specifically Jamaica) were rejected because of the known instability of government. Finally Barbados was selected as the ideal location for the company.
Mr. Mellinger and team negotiated with the government of Barbados and got concessions with respect to tax etc.
Mr. Melliger roped in Mr. Vishwanathan, CEO of Citicorp group in India, then to head the operations at Barbados and thus began a new Company called Total Technology Solutions Ltd (TTSL).
