Poonachi: Or the Story of a Black Goat by Perumal Murugan

Poonachi: Or the Story of a Black GoatPoonachi: Or the Story of a Black Goat by Perumal Murugan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A goat is given a personality in the book. A small weakling of a female kid comes into the family of a poor old farmer and his wife. The person who gives it to him says that it was delivered by a goat which delivered seven kids in one pregnancy.

To story is about how this incidence changes the life of the old man and his wife from the perspective of the goat.

One sentence from the book that really stands out is "The birth of an ordinary life never leaves a trace, does it?"

A good read.
