The book provides a soft insight into the life of the Chinese immigrants in the US at the start of 20th century. The harsh realities have been tempered and what has been presented in a relatively watered down version.
Nevertheless it is a good read for someone who is not aware of the history of those times. Gives a high level insight into the life in China some extent.
A decent read.
