A good read.
The protagonist in US runs away from her cruel husband and is managing to live on her own with the help a lady who runs a small restaurant and shares a room with a gay who also works in the same restaurant.
She is asked to come back to India to attend her brother's wedding. She manages to go to India and takes along her gay roommate who wants to know more about India.
Most of the book is about the "Wedding Tamasha" that takes place after this. It highlights how a simple Malayalee wedding which typically lasts a few minutes and with the accouterments a few hours has now changed into a multi-day grandiose affair thanks to the glamorous portrayal of the Big Fat Punjabi weddings in Bollywood.
In the end she ends up finding her true love and both take the courage to express it. All is well in the end.
A good read.
