Only Time Will Tell by Jeffrey Archer - Clifton Chronicles I

Only Time Will TellOnly Time Will Tell by Jeffrey Archer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reading Jeffrey Archer after a long time. And I have been a fan of him for a lot many years. So take my gushing review with a pinch of salt.

The Clifton Chronicles in the bygone era would possibly have been a 900 page single book. But understanding the need of the current generation which needs everything done in a jiffy, Mr. Archer has split the book into multiple books instead of multiple sections.

The first section starts with the childhood of Harry Clifton and the ones around him. He is purportedly the son of a dock worker and his best friend in the school turns out to be the son of the person running the docks. He his told his father has been killed in the war, but there are people who know the truth. The truth comes out somewhere half way through the book.

As he falls in love with his best friend's sister and prepares to wed her, it turns out that there is a possibility that he could be her step-brother. This leads to heart-break all round.

He decides to move out of Britain and he lands up in New York at the end of the book. Harry Clifton lands in a deep trouble as a result of an impersonation which he expected will reduce his and others' misery.

A definite good read for the fans of Jeffrey Archer.
