Vexation of Taxation

Why do all our economists,
With hard as iron fists,
Have a stubborn fixation,
With long drawn taxation.

Each new one adds his own stamp,
Making us all look like vamps,
Waiting for shady exemptions,
To satisfy our temptations.

Each one promises to reduce tax,
And we tend to become lax,
But come the end of year,
He induces the same old fear.

Year after year one pays through the nose,
And God Forbid if one buys a Bose,
He will throughout have a Noose,
And be frightened of even change, loose.
