Relationship

The findings of skulls and bones of children at Nithari goes to show how stone hearted we have become. Life has become cheap in India. There are too many of us to bother about a few dying due the unscrupulous lot.
There is some outrage, but this will die down once the media stops highlighting it. The media will stop highlighting once it stops getting gruesome pictures of skeletons being dug out. Soon the news will be relegated to two square inches of paper on the 7th page saying that Mohinder Singh the accused was granted bail on deposit of 50000 Rupees and was let free.
If we have this much feeling for humans, what to say of our empathy towards animals. Here we have a person who asks his guard to carry the kittens in his building and throw them in the gutter as they are a nuisance to him.
Everyday some puppy or kitten gets crushed under the wheels of a vehicle. How many of us stop to even look at the poor creature. How many of these vehicle owners get down to see if they can repair the damage? None to be precise. After all it is only a dog that has died and dog is expected to have the "Death of a Dog" (Kutte Ki Maut).
There is no empathy. We display tremendous apathy and hardly any sympathy. Is it because of the population or is it because we are "like that only"?
Hard to say. It would harsh to judge everybody saying that we are like that only, but if most of us then aren't we like that only?
