My rating: 3 of 5 stars
At the beginning I read the English translation of the book and not the original Marathi version.
As the author says in the prologue he has taken enough liberties with the original story and has given a modern twist of one of the woman being jealous and the other being completely sacrificial. Shukra and Devayani come across as extremely selfish persons while Sharmishtha and even her father Vrishparva come out clean as whistle with nary a stain on them.
The exchange of youth for old age is also watered down. Yayati quickly learns his folly and gives back the youth to Puru.
A decent read.
