A good book for the kids to read, especially the ones from the cities. It gives them an idea of how the village life is. Of course it presents a very positive aspect of this life, but that is fine.
Nooni, who lives in Bengaluru, goes to her paternal grandparents place in a village. She finds the life to be very different than it is in the city.
She is told a story about a stepwell that had been constructed by a king about 1000 years ago. Different people tell her the same story with different endings.
She is intrigued by this and with her friends she ends up finding the stepwell.
A good introduction to a idyllic life for the city slickers.
