Most of the times when one reads a book with a lot of expectation it turns out to be an anticlimax. This is not true of Gitanjali. For ages I have been hearing about the book. It has been praised sky high and the amount panegyrics on it cannot be counted. (This will possibly turn out to be one more in that list).

The book needs to be read slowly and each poem is to be read and savoured slowly, not devoured at one go. The meaning is deep and profound and sets one thinking.

A definite good read.
