A book of two FBI agents Kim Otto (German father and Vietnamese mother) and Gaspar (of Spanish origin) are sent on a wild goose chase to create a file on "Jack Reacher" by their unseen, only heard "boss" who keeps tabs of their every move and is always one step ahead and sometimes seemingly concerned about their safety.
Kim is ambitious while Gaspar wants to ensure that his family of four girls and a fifth child to be born does not lose the only bread winner. Kim is the number one "man" in the team despite Gaspar being the senior in terms of service and age.
They have to ensure that they convert the wild goose chase into a meaningful goose chase else their goose will be cooked.
They run all over America and also cross the Atlantic once to check out accounts in a Swiss bank where they also find one each in their names.
A typical American FBI thriller.
