Jeffrey Archer continues to weave the Clifton Chronicles. The book starts with the House of Lords deciding on the inheritance between Harry Clifton and Giles Barrington. The Lord votes for Giles Barrington.
Giles and Harry continue to be friends. Harry and Emma get married, finally and legally. Sebastian Clifton, son of Harry and Emma grows up and helps his Uncle Giles win an election.
Alex Fisher, not satisfied with slippering Harry and while continuing to feel that Giles did not deserve the MC tries to get back at Harry and Giles through the girlfriend of Giles with whom Giles is besotted.
Like father, Sebastian ends up with two close friends. One a Jew and one a smuggler from Argentina.
