The Hypnotist by Lars Kepler

The HypnotistThe Hypnotist by Lars Kepler
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A whole family is killed in a gory manner. There is only one survivor and he is in a bad shape. Joona Linna the incorrigible Swedish CID officer called by his colleague and he jumps into the case. He brings an hypnotist doctor who has taken a vow not to hypnotise anybody despite the the past success he has had. One bad experience is enough to make him take this vow.

Joona Linna forces him to use this skill. It helps save a life, but puts his and his family's life under threat. His son suffers from a disease which prevents his blood from coagulated. He has been having problems with his wife who suspects that he is having an affair and herself has an affair.

The book is about how they go about solving the murders and finding the culprits.

A decent read. Do not expect a Stieg Larsson
