After Manwatching, to Bodywatching to now Peoplewatching Desmond Morris has come up with a series of good books on human and human behaviour. All of them are very good reads to understand humans.
It is probably not guide to understand all the idiosyncrasies of the people in the different regions of the world, but it does sensitise one to the differences in the cultural beheviour of the people through the world. It should stop us from laughing at what we think are antics of people from other regions of the world.
An eminently good read.
