My rating: 3 of 5 stars
A troublesome step-granddaughter is accused of murder of the step-grandfather who happens to be a judge of reknown. All circumstantial evidences point towards the step-granddaughter. It is a difficult task for Josie Bates to prove otherwise. She is further burdened by the fact that she has just joined as a partner in a firm which believes in staying private and serving its limited clients in peace and without raising any publicity. And this case proves to be a publicity nightmare for Josie's new firm.
How she goes about proving the innocence of the child and identifying the real culprit is the gist of the book.
A decent read.
